The Course
The Course, 6404 yards, par 71, SSS 71, was designed by J.H.Taylor in 1930, and is well known for its variety of demanding holes through wooded glades and picturesque parkland.  Set in the grounds of Addington Palace, the previous home of Archbishops of Canterbury, we boast consistently well manicured greens throughout the year. The course provides an interesting challenge for high and low handicap golfers alike. We recently hosted the Surrey Amateur Championships.

The front nine is lined with rhodedendron, birch, oak and fir. The back nine has a more parkland feel. The 2nd and 10th holes will challenge the most accomplished of golfers and whilst playing the par 3 12th, guarded by 7 bunkers,  you pass the 300 year old manor house and fountain.

Feature Hole
The 6th is the course`s feature hole. At 400 yards from the medal tee, it requires a good drive from an elevated tee to a valley between two sets of bunkers at 230 yards. An uphill second into the prevailing wind demands a fine shot that plays longer that the yardage suggests. The green has a gentle tier and assessing the borrow will be a critical factor on most putts. The pro recommends you leave yourself an uphill putt!  A par 4 is a real achievement.
